Equal Employment Opportunity
In order to provide equal employment opportunities to all individuals, Spelman College does not discriminate in employment opportunities on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, marital, protected veteran status, genetic tests, genetic information or any other legally protected status.
Spelman will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with known disabilities unless doing so would result in an undue hardship. This policy applies to all terms, conditions, and privileges of employment, including hiring, introductory period, training, orientation, placement, employee development, promotion, transfer, compensation, benefits, layoff and recall, social and recreational programs, employee facilities, termination and retirement.
Any employee with questions or concerns about any type of discrimination in the workplace is encouraged to bring these issues to the attention of their immediate supervisor or the Director of Human Resources. Employees can raise concerns and make reports without fear of reprisal. Anyone found to be engaging in any type of unlawful discrimination will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Any communication from an applicant for employment, an employee, a government agency or attorney concerning any equal employment opportunity matter should be referred to the Office of Human Resources.
If an employee feels they are a victim of discrimination, they must contact their supervisor and/or the Office of Human Resources.
